  • Dr. Elsayed Elbeshbishy

    Dr. Elsayed Elbeshbishy

    Dr. Elsayed Elbeshbishy is an assistant professor at Toronto Metropolitan University since 2015. For more than 15 years, he has worked in various engineering projects both nationally and internationally. Dr. Elbeshbishy’s areas of expertise include and not limited to anaerobic digestion, biohydrogen production & fermentation process, advanced oxidation processes, and solid waste management. He is collaborating with different industries and municipalities for developing new technologies for value-added products recovery from wastes. He invented a process for maximizing the bioenergy recovery from food waste, he is the principal inventor of a patent-pending process for energy recovery from waste that utilized ultrasonication.

  • Dr. Mohamed S. Zaghloul

    Dr. Mohamed S. Zaghloul

    Dr. Mohamed S. Zaghloul is an Assistant Professor at the United Arab Emirates University. He obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Calgary and completed his NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Toronto Metropolitan University. His research expertise lies in wastewater treatment process modeling, artificial intelligence tools, and carbon footprint optimization.

  • Dr. Ahmed AlSayed

    Dr. Ahmed AlSayed is a part-time postdoctoral fellow at WR3. Dr. Ahmed’s research interests lie within the area of improving the sustainability footprint of wastewater treatment plants through improving its energy efficiency, maximizing resources recovery, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions which he tries to achieve using his expertise in machine learning and experimental research.

  • Mostafa Khalil

    Mostafa Khalil combines his knowledge in environmental engineering, and problem-solving skills using modelling and simulations, data science, and machine learning methods. Whether it's software training, academic courses, or presenting findings with finesse, his communication skills are both versatile and effective.

  • Omar Abdelrahman

    Omar Abdelrahman

    Omar Abdelrahman is a Master of Applied Sciences student at Toronto Metropolitan University, focusing on the GHG Emissions Project for Wastewater Treatment Facilities. His focus lies in the application of stationary and drone sensors for GHG emissions monitoring, blending advanced technology with environmental science. With an advanced drone piloting license, this plays a crucial role in the GHG monitoring applications of this project. With a background in Industrial Engineering, Omar brings a unique perspective to his current research, integrating engineering principles with environmental sustainability. Prior to his current academic pursuits, Omar has substantial experience in the marketing sector, with a diverse skill set that includes strategic communication and market analysis.

  • Daniel E. Almuina Pica

    Daniel Almuina Pica is a full-time Masters of Applied Science student at the Remote Sensing Innovation Lab (RSIL). Daniel’s research focus is on optical sensor integration; developing and utilizing hyperspectral cameras, optical gas imaging and laser absorption to quantify greenhouse gas emissions. Daniel also works alongside space companies to use high resolution satellite imagery for environmental and climate monitoring.

  • Marwan Al Saleh

    Marwan Alsaleh is a dedicated full-time PhD candidate at WR3, with a primary focus on enhancing the sustainability of wastewater treatment plants. His research endeavors are around optimizing resource recovery and mitigating greenhouse gas emissions through the application of modeling and machine learning techniques.

  • Layla Aly

    Marketing Assistant and Content Creator

    Layla Aly is pursuing her passion for sustainability, community development and EDI (equity, diversity & inclusivity) planning through her Bachelor of Urban Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University, as well as a minor in French. Her role as a research assistant lies in managing the outreach and social media branch of Waste2Wealth through content creation across 3 platforms with the goal of promoting environmental sustainability and engaging communities through research.

  • Aidan Attali

    Aidan Attali is currently a student at Toronto Metropolitian University studying Media Production through RTA. He specializes in content creation, videography, post-production, and planning. Aidan is part of the media team at W2W, ensuring that all of the content is pristinely presented and available to all who are interested.
